Serious Sinus Infection with Post Nasal Drip, How Long Does it take to go away?

I have been sufferring from a bad sinus infection for a while now and now also have fluid in both my ears. I have been hacking up stuff, but this nasty , sticky thick stuff keeps draining out the back of my mouth, sometimes it feels like from the back of the roof of my mouth. My tongue stays sticky and it gags me, and it feels like bone from ear to throat is broken, stays sore. I feel as if I have to push down when I swallow to get it down and constantly feel like I am choking. I went to the ER on Saturday and they gave me Nasonex and this is day 3 of it, I went to my DR today and she also gave me Claritin, and I have taken one dose of it. How long does it take these to help, I can't eat at all because it feels like it gets stuck in the gunk back there and I just can't get anything down, sometimes it is hard to get water down. I also have acid reflux and it makes it worse. Any suggestions would be great. I don't have facial or nose stuffiness however, just drainage and throat probs.
