How to deal with my mom?!?

Ohmygod! I was having the same problem with my dad! As soon as you start to explain why you have a perfectly logical reason for doing x.y.z, they start firing all their guns (haha, my dad's a cop), and start accusing you of defending yourself and saying that your tryna cover up your guilt!! The problem with these types of parents is that they refuse to admit that they could be wrong. My dad instantly blamed me for anything that went wrong, and to cover up the fact that he jumped to conclusions even though I was innocent, he started yelling at me to "stop defending myself". I usually showed my dad that Im not afraid of the silent treatment, and would ignore him until he starts to show remorse. Or, if I felt up to it, I would broach the subject of him screaming at me rather than talking to me, when we are all calm and getting along fine. This may seem stupid, but it worked for me in the long run because it made him aware of the fact that he was behaving like an *** when he didnt have to. If you speak to them when they are calm, its much easier because they have absolutely zero reason to raise their voice, and the message gets through to them, eventually. Lol, and, just cool down a bit, stop saying that your gonna kill your mother!
