Adware help please, malwarebytes anti-adware?

right i have a new laptop, its running the norton free trail that was on it when i got it (its on and secure) the first two weeks it was fine, but now i,m being bombarded with pop up ads every time i use internet explorer why? i have downloaded malwarebytes anti-adware and run the full scan but i,m still getting these multiple pop ups that open up new windows and its driving me crazy! could facebook aps have anything to do with this? thank for reading, and any help would be aprieciated
